Aldo

From LoveToKnow Shoes

The History

Although a firm American favorite, Aldo shoes actually started out in Canada. Montreal was company founder Aslo Bensadoun's favorite city.

The company had a small start in 1972, selling its collection of footwear through a range of concessions within other stores around Canada. By 1980, however, the company had grown. They opened a total of 95 stores by 1993, when Aldo first started to enter the American market. The first store in the United States was opened in Boston, Massachusetts.

By 2002, Aldo had gone global, opening stores and concessions across Europe, as well. The success story has continued to the present day. They now offer men's, women's, and children's shoes, as well as a popular accessories line. Aldo's chief strength is in the production of designer-inspired styles which allow those of us without a designer budget to still dress like a star. The company has played to that strength with its frequently updated collections. Let's take a look.

Aldo Shoes for Women

Aldo's range covers every style of footwear imaginable, from shoes and sandals to boots. There's also a selection of hats, belts, and socks to allow you to keep your outfits accessorized.

A quick glance at the Aldo shoes website is enough to demonstrate the fashion-forward style of the company. Fancy a pair of cork-soled platforms just like Christian Louboutin's, but can't afford the $800 price tag? Worry not, you'll find the exact same style at Aldo shoes for only a fraction of the price. Jessica Simpson, Nicole Ritchie, and Lindsay Lohan have all been spotted wearing the designer version of this shoe. It's this season's hottest style and thanks to Aldo, just about anyone can afford to wear it.

The rest of the range is equally fashionable with both dress, casual and city styles available. Patent leather features heavily this season, with pumps and wedges available in both black and turquoise.

Shoes for Men

Men are equally well-catered to at Aldo Shoes. The Aldo website makes things easy on the fashion-challenged male with a handy guide on how to dress. Men quite often find buying shoes difficult, normally opting for the "safest" option available to avoid making a serious style mistake. Aldo make things easier with a range of "go with anything" styles featuring dress shoes, sandals, and boots.

Accessories

Accessorize your Aldo shoes with a belt, bag, pair of sunglasses or piece of jewelry from the Aldo accessories line. As the Aldo empire grows, so does the range of merchandise on offer. Like the shoes, the accessories to be found at Aldo are in a similar, designer-inspired style. What more could the well-dressed girl or boy ask for?
