The Rising Popularity of Born Shoes

If you've yet to discover Born Shoes, then you could be missing out on one of the hottest new brands in the footwear world.

The company has only been around for just over ten years. Even though they're babies compared to the more established brands they're competing with, they've spent that time building a loyal following.

Born shoes focus on handcrafted, unique styles--no wonder they've been seen on the feet of so many celebrities lately!

All About Born

A quick glance at the Born Shoes website is enough to show you that you're dealing with something just a little bit out of the ordinary. The Born models aren't your usual all-American girls. Instead the company goes for a quirky, unusual style which perfectly compliments their footwear. If you find this particular style difficult to pull off, don't worry--the Get the Look section shows you just how these shoes should be worn, and what they should be worn with!

Born unfortunately doesn't, make apparel to go with their shoes, but if you're an accessories fan, you'll find a small range of handbags, all in that same, quirky style.

Women's Shoes from Born

Born's women's shoe collection offers an eclectic mix of colors and styles, split into five different categories: sandals, wedges, clogs, casual, tailored and boots.

The "tailored" section offers the type of shoes you'd probably wear to the office, although these funky loafers are anything but boring. Born sandals, meanwhile, are all handcrafted from natural materials to provide comfort, style and elegance in up-to-the-minutes designs. Bright, primary colors are in evidence throughout the range, and flower motifs and cut-outs add interest to classic designs.

The clogs section contains bright red and yellow heeled clogs, as well as some slightly more conservative colors. Expect clogs to make a big comeback!

Men's Shoes from Born

Born's men's shoes are mostly casual in design. The company has used color and texture to create new twists on old favorite styles such as the moccasin and loafer. These are shoes for the fashion-forward man, and there's also a stylish sports line. You won't find blindingly-white sneakers with huge tongues here. What you may find is the kind of sports shoes you could probably wear to work or dinner without anyone noticing the difference.

Where to Buy

You can purchase your next pair of Born shoes online at the company's website: click on the "Buy Now" link under any pair of shoes. You'll then be redirected to Shoeline.com, where you can go ahead and make your purchase.

If you'd prefer to try before you buy, you can use the online store locator at the site to find a stockist in your area.

You can also visit Zappos.com.

Prices are towards the higher end of the non-designer market. A pair of this season's cork wedges, for instance, will set you back around $95, while a pair of classic thong sandals are currently priced at $70.
