Buying SAS Shoes
From LoveToKnow Shoes
When it comes to buying SAS shoes, your options are limited. You must get yourself to a brick and mortar shop that sells them. There, you can try them on, determine what works best for you and then leave with the right shoes in hand – the old-fashioned way.
Buying SAS Shoes Online
It is nearly impossible to buy SAS shoes online. Much in the same way as they don’t do any marketing, but only rely upon word of mouth to get their products sold, the family-owned company does not want its shoes sold in a capacity where they can’t be tried on. They don’t even make their catalog available for viewing on their website.
One of the few online sources for buying SAS shoes is Norbys, a small online “department store.” Exactly how they are able to get away with selling SAS shoes online when no one else can is unknown, but they have a small selection and if you’re desperate, they are worth checking out.
You can occasionally find SAS shoes and sandals available through other random sites, but for the most part, the only reliable source for online shopping is going the second-hand route on eBay. That can be a tricky route, because sellers may say the shoes are unworn, or have only been worn once or twice, and there is no way to verify if this is the case. So while you can get the shoes for a price lower than wholesale, you can’t really be sure you’re getting a true bargain. However, if what you need is a comfortable walking shoe, rather than an orthopedic shoe, and you don’t mind a small risk, this can be a great way to get amazing deals.
SAS Outlets
If you live in or near San Antonio, or are going to be in the area, you are in luck. This is the gold star for buying SAS shoes, because it’s where the factory is. There is an outlet store right near it, so you can shop to your heart’s content and do pretty well.
But if you’re nowhere near San Antonio, you still have some options – there are other SAS outlet stores around the country. A great site to check for one near you is Outlet Bound, which lists all the SAS outlets. You’ll find that they are pretty scattered – big cities are bereft. What you’ll have to do in that case is start looking for stores that sell comfort or walking shoes. If the nearest such store to you is still a bit of a haul, you should call them first to be sure that they carry SAS.
When Buying SAS Shoes in Person
The good thing about shopping in a specially designated comfort shoe shop is that the salespeople should all be knowledgeable and sympathetic regarding your needs. People of any age can feel self-conscious about the need for orthopedic shoes, whether they just have bad bunions or serious peripheral neuropathy issues. Of course, you shouldn’t have to feel this way, but in a world of stiletto-heeled strappy sandals, the need for a well-padded lace up shoe can make one feel less hip than they might like. Shops that sell SAS stores will have help who understand and will be able to guide you to the best shoe for you. They will take their time fitting you and making sure the shoe suits your needs. And should there be any problem, you can easily do a return or exchange, which certainly wouldn’t be the case with buying the shoes on eBay.
Worth the Effort
While buying SAS shoes may not be as simple as clicking a few buttons, when you have feet with special needs, it’s very much worth your while to go to a proper shop and guarantee that your buy is the best for your feet.
