Clothes for Spring
Spring season comes as a huge relief for those of us who are sick of being wrapped up in thick sweaters and layers of outerwear. Here are your must-have items for spring:
A Trench Coat
The classic trench coat is back with a vengeance. Although beige remains the "goes with everything" color, you'll find the trench coat in a myriad of different colors and lengths. The trench is an excellent choice to wear over jeans, suits, or dresses. Most are also lightweight enough to be rolled up and stowed in your handbag if the sun does come out to play.
A Blazer
The blazer, which was big last season, isn't going anywhere just yet. Wear with jeans for a casually chic look or with a dress if you're going somewhere fancy.
Capri Pants
Cropped pants are a must-have for Spring. This is another one of those items that every girl should own.
A Polka Dot Dress
Fashion goes 50s this season. Polka dots are on clothes, shoes, and accessories. Don't wear them all at the same time, though. Just buy a sophisticated and sexy polka dot dress and you're done.
Shoes
Flats are the best shoes to wear with your new Spring clothes. Ballet flats will go with both your capris and your dresses. Plus, they can be dressed up or down as required. A red pair will look great with black and white polka dots, but patent leather ballet flats are also a hot look in any color.
Look for an array of shoes with sequins, glitter and other sparkles.
Don't like flats? Don't worry. Heels never go out of fashion. You'll find a wide range of strappy sandals in fun colors.
Accessories
Even if you're on a tight budget, a few key accessories are guaranteed to instantly update anything you're wearing. Here's what to look out for:
Waspie Belts
These wide, elasticated belts look a little like corsets and are just as effective at accentuating your curves and making your waist look tiny! They look fabulous with a pencil skirt and strappy top. You can also wear them over a dress for a truly glamorous look!
Alice Bands
You thought they went out with the 80s, but the alice band is back. Wear it in black, white, or the ubiquitous polka dot for an instant fashion update!
Big Shades
You've seen them on Nicole Ritchie, Lindsay Lohan, and the Olsen twins. Buy a pair of oversized sunglasses for yourself this Spring.
