For big girls who like to have fun, Dollhouse boots are a playful way to express your style.

The 80s Look of Dollhouse Boots

Dollhouse combines the retro wild fun of the 80s with an up-to-the-minute hot modern style. Specializing in cool junior wear, Dollhouse uses the inspiration of the past to create a fresh look, making it one of the leaders in youth fashion.

A Few Good Boots

New Dollhouse boots are available all the time, but here are a few popular current styles:

  • Avalino
    • The Avalino is a knee-high slouch boot available in black or brown. It features a strap and braid design, giving it a Western riding boot look. The heel is 2 1/2 inches high. It retails for $155. Wearers say it’s comfortable, walkable and dresses up or down nicely.
  • Cerca
    • Available in black, olive or rust, the Cerca is a suede wedge ankle boot, slightly slouchy with side ties and a 2 1/4 inch heel. While many find it comfortable, some complain of weak stitching and the tendency of the ties to come loose. It retails for $90.
  • Crystal
    • For a girl who wants a decidedly unique, eye-catching look, the high-calf Crystal boot in distressed leather with fabric stripes and criss-cross stitching is a good bet. A wedge boot with a 3-inch heel, the Crystal retails for $90. Many wearers love it, but several complain that the look trumps the comfort and the arch support is unsatisfactory. Available in black, brown or whiskey.
  • Essence
    • A Western-style ornate boot with a pointed toe, 3 1/2 inch heel and embroidery and sequin designs, the Essence comes in black or tan and retails for $170. Considered snug on initial wear, it softens and expands gradually for a good fit.
  • Highlander
    • While not very Scottish, the Highlander is a distressed corduroy boot very similar in appearance to Converse shoes and designed to highlight a girl’s tough edge. With a military-style buckle and lace-up design, stain treatment and rubber sole, this $80 boot is a fun alternative to sneakers. Wearers note that the lack of arch support detracts from the comfort and you’re better off getting the boot a half or whole size larger than your usual fit. The stiffness of the fabric, while contributing to the boot’s lifespan, can make for a longer than usual breaking in period.
  • Wild
    • The accurately named Wild is a Western-style calf boot with spindly 3 3/4 inch stiletto heels, pointy toes and a swirl and stud design over the body. Retailing for $150 and available in black or brown, wearers love them and love the looks they get while wearing them. Many recommend the use of a gel insole, however, particularly if you’re going to be on your feet for any length of time.
  • Wonder
    • Similar to the Wild with a 3 3/4 inch stiletto heel, a Western-inspired design and knee height, the Wonder features stitch detailing and metallic leather inlays, along with a slouchy style and a buckle, strap and harness accents. Retailing for $150, wearers love the look but many find the pull-on style awkward, even while raving about the sexiness and overall comfort.

Where to Buy Dollhouse Boots

Because the sizes of Dollhouse boots can vary depending on the heel height and last, you should try and find them in a retail shop to try on, rather than buy online. However, as Dollhouse footwear is often more easily found online than at brick-and-mortar shops, look for them at such reputable sellers as Zappos, which, in addition to offering free shipping, will readily do exchanges should you need a different size. You can also find Dollhouse shoes at large shops with extensive collections such as DSW. Look for them in trendy boutiques and anyplace that caters to young fashionistas. If your local cool shoe shop doesn’t carry them and you think they should, let them know. Many shops will respond to requests from good customers.
