Frye Boots
From LoveToKnow Shoes
Like apple pie and Chevrolet, Frye boots are a staple of classic American culture. These well-made boots are just as much a symbol of the Old West as they are young Hollywood. Today, an entirely new generation is enjoying the stylish quality that Frye has to offer.
A Rich History
The Frye Company, makers of Frye boots, is the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States. Since 1863, Frye has been making footwear that has walked the battlefields of the Civil War and the Spanish American War, mined for gold during the Gold Rush, and gone West with the Pioneers of the late 1800s. Even Teddy Roosevelt and General Patton wore Frye boots.
Frye Boots are a Fashion Staple
Frye boots are a staple of modern fashion. In 2005, Jessica Simpson single handedly brought back the boots as a must-have fashion accessory with her role in the hit movie The Dukes of Hazard. For her role as Daisy Duke, Simpson donned Frye boots. Overnight, she had legions of fans flocking to get their very own pair.
Many Different Styles
The boots are available in tall styles, short styles, and slip-on booties. In the Frye Classics line, many of the styles are the same as they were in the 1800s.
The work line features a style called Logger, which is a modern take on the typical work boot. Western boots include styles that are feature elaborate detailing and beautiful colors. Frye boots also makes footwear for boys and girls, so even kids can look chic and in-style.
Frye is not just limited to boots. To keep up with modern trends, the company has begun creating strappy sandals, ankle boots with kitten heels, clogs, and driving loafers for men. But, the boot that sent fashionistas in a craze during the Western trend of last summer is the Dorado, a slouchy boot that is one part cowboy and one part stylish. The boot is available in multiple colors and is still extremely popular among fashionable girls.
Boots for the Family
Frye boots can be enjoyed by men, women, and children with many styles that compliment any wardrobe.
Whether it is for work or play, men love Frye boots. They were even mentioned on an episode of hit HBO television show Entourage. Men can enjoy a pair of classic short Frye boots for $190. A taller pair of suede western boots runs $450, with many styles priced in between the two.
Women can get their kicks, too. Engineer work boots begin at $190, and go up to $480 for ultra tall western boots. Clogs and vintage-inspired sandals are $150.
The Small Frye line of Frye boots is especially made for little feet. Girls will enjoy the pink Lil Daisy Duke style of boot for $65. Boys can look bad to the bone in motorcycle inspired boots that are $80.
The Jennifer Estes Collection was created to honor the memory of Jennifer, who was diagnosed with A.L.S. in 1997. Twenty percent of proceeds from the sale of these special boots, which retail between $375 and $1000, will benefit Project A.L.S., the charity that Jennifer began before her death.
