Koch Shoes
From LoveToKnow Shoes
Founded in 1953 in Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, Koch Shoes grew from its humble beginnings to become Terra Footwear, Ltd., an established company providing quality shoes for professional workers.
Heavy-Duty Footwear
Just ask anyone whose job demands a uniform sturdy enough to stand up to daily rigor and activity – the shoes are just as important as the clothes. In fact, proper footwear is one of the most valuable investments a hiker, sportsman, craftsman or serviceman can make. Without strong shoes, constant discomfort and inevitable injuries would plague millions. It makes sense, then, that a brand like Terra Footwear exists to provide professionals with a wide selection of shoes designed to face rough work conditions with ease.
The Koch Shoes Collection
Though the company is no longer known as Koch Shoes, its reputation for high-quality industrial and safety footwear lives on under the Terra Footwear name. Specializing in products for men and women, the company also plans to add a collection of performance work apparel to its lineup.
Men's Shoes
Whether the job is highly demanding and rigorous or simply requires something more practical than a dressy loafer, a pair of shoes from the vast men's selection is sure to do the trick.
- If you spend plenty of time on your feet at the job, consider a casual shoe like Charger. Its light brown color is professional and versatile, and a lightweight midsole, mesh lining and steel toe promise comfort all day long.
- The Gulf shoe is a smart, sensible alternative to a dress shoe. It bears a similar style but features a more comfortable leather upper and a thick, sturdy sole.
- These hi-cut Replay II boots are constructed of rich buffalo leather. In addition to their hardy material, they also boast a Cambrelle lining (which allows the feet to breathe, absorbs moisture and provides a cushiony feel) and Thinsulate (an insulation that provides extra warmth and retains its insulating properties even after extended wear).
- If your job doesn't require such a hefty boot, consider the mid-cut Spanner. Also lined with Cambrelle, this light boot is water-resistant and features a steel toe and steel plate.
- Avid hikers know how important comfortable shoes are! These Lightning boots are striking in black and yellow, and they also make a powerful difference in comfort and durability for the hiker navigating the trails. A leather upper and rubber outsole promise exceptional performance.
- Ask anyone who's ever suffered a sports-related injury: Performance footwear is an absolute must. The street smart Ridge shoes offer functionality on top of style. Its oil- and abrasion-resistant rubber outsole provides outstanding traction, while the phylon midsole ensures a cushion of comfort for the foot.
- Whether you work in a freezer or spend plenty of time in the bone-chilling freeze of winter, these Thermatoe boots will quickly become your best friend. They feature a removable three layer liner and a heavy polyurethane sole, which provides maximum protection from impacts.
- Built to military specifications, these Ripcord shoes are constructed of ballistic nylon and feature a TPU outsole, which provides even weight distribution.
- Metatarsal guard shoes are designed to provide specific protection to the toes and the metatarsal bones. The H Pattern Met shoes are designed with this function in mind. They boast a steel toe and steel plate, buffalo leather and a sturdy metatarsal guard.
Women's Shoes
Though not as diverse as the men's collection, Terra Footwear does offer a limited selection of women's shoes.
- The Bordeaux boots are ideal for women who work in risky environments. They feature electric shock-resistant (ESR) outsoles, Cambrelle lining and Thinsulate insulation.
- Proving that safety and style aren't mutually exclusive, the playful Emily shoe is sporty and strong all at once. Though it's lightweight, it features an oil- and abrasion-resistant outsole, a steel toe, steel plate and ESR.
