Marc Jacobs Shoes
From LoveToKnow Shoes
As you would expect from one of the hottest designers around, Marc Jacobs shoes are every bit as desirable as the clothes they were designed to compliment. With a quirky, yet wearable, style, they’re the celebrity footwear of choice all over the world. They're often copied by their lower-priced rivals. Is Marc Jacob the next Manolo Blahnik? The signs are certainly good…
All About Marc Jacobs
Born and bred in New York City, Marc Jacobs studied at Parson's school of design. It was there that he began producing and selling his first items--a range of hand knitted sweaters. By 1986, Jacobs had started designing under the Marc Jacobs label, and after just one year in business was awarded the prestigious Perry Ellis Award for new fashion. He was the youngest designer ever to do so.
Since then, the label has gone from strength to strength, collecting more celebrity fans and accolades along the way. With diffusion lines including Marc by Marc Jacobs, Stinky Rat and Little Marc, Jacobs would appear to have the fashion market covered for men, women and children.
This Season at Marc Jacobs Shoes
There are only a handful of styles on show in the shoe section of the official Marc Jacobs website, but they're more than enough to prove that he is no ordinary shoe designer. The first thing you'll notice is the heels. This season, Jacobs has used a chunky, yet tapered, Cuban style heel on everything from court shoes to boots. Even a classic pair of wedges are given an unusual cut-out heel featuring that quirky shape.
The next thing you'll notice are the bows. Marc Jacobs women's shoes are many things, but they're always feminine. A bow is added to leather boots to give an otherwise classic style that added something. Even Jacobs rain boots are works of art, with that distinctive high heel and shiny finish. This is the kind of boots you'll want to wear every day, not only when it rains!
Jacobs popular diffusion line, Marc by Marc Jacobs, displays the same variety of styles. The shoes here are slightly more casual, with some flats and boat shoes making an appearance alongside the higher heels. There's even a fabulous pair of thigh-high boots with buckle thigh for those brave enough to wear them.
