Mules

What Do Mules Have That Other Shoes Don't?
Well, it’s not a question of what mules have, but rather what they don't have. Backs. The shoes can be dressy. They can be for men or for women. They can be glitzy, heeled shoes worn with the most formal of dress, or they can be flat, white and called a sneaker. These babies just can't have backs.
Mules are everywhere; you just may have never recognized them as such until now. They're in the bedroom, on the playground, in the grocery store and on the dance floor. They just might be taking over the shoe world. What's easier than just slipping into a shoe with no back, and no necessary shoelaces?
Wearing These Backless Shoes
You can pretty much wear mules with anything. There are styles to balance out slightly trendy or classic outfits. You can wear sleek single-colored heeled mules with dresses or slacks--even blue jeans and a fitted top. Wear the sneaker styles with your yoga pants if you're going out to run errands in your comfort gear. You can find this style of shoe in basically any footwear category--from the most casual to the most elegant.
Men, you can get these in casual leather styles to wear with khakis, or sneaker styles, as well. However, they don't usually go well with your formalwear. You can get by with backless shoes for days off and even some jobs will allow them. It all depends on the dress code your place of business calls for.
Favorites and Why They Make the Cut
These Naturalizer Scenes are great because they're fine for work or play. They can go well with blue jeans and a turtleneck for family get-togethers or daily errands, or you can pair them with casual work clothes. The neutral colors available mean they'll go with just about anything.
Feeling a bit feminine and bohemian all at once? The rsvp Mili in pink fits the bill. It's a flat, beaded shoe that goes everywhere from girly to grown-up, with blue jeans or dresses. Just slip into it and go.
This Calvin Klein shoe is a classic of its type. Again, this type of shoe is great for either work or play. This particular style isn't the best choice for formal occasions, but for the use you'd get out of it otherwise, it's still a necessity for any woman's closet.
Men, you may be hard-pressed to find an online category called "Mules" in your section, but keep in mind, some clogs are mules, too. You can easily find some of those for yourself. Take the Ugg Olson, for example. There's no back to this shoe so you can slide your foot right in. The strong leather and the brand name will give you a sense of security in your step.
Kids don't go unnoticed in the mules world, either. For your little princess, check out this design from Ugg in lilac.
Bottom Line
Mules are everywhere. Make sure they're on your family's feet!
