SAS shoes are American, hand sewn, comfortable shoes.

SAS Makes Comfortable Shoes

Let’s face it, for some of us, the days of zipping around from errand to errand in killer three-inch heels are long behind us. Yes, we still wear them for formal occasions and power lunches, but now we long for shoes a bit more practical to match our very busy lifestyles. Enter SAS shoes.

SAS makes hand-sewn, comfortable shoes that we can safely wear all day without hobbling home in mind-searing pain. Established in 1976, and based in San Antonio, Texas, SAS expertly blends comfortable sensibility and style; the exact remedy for our aching feet.

How to Wear

No one wants to trade style for comfort, so here are a few guidelines to help you successfully incorporate SAS shoes into your wardrobe and accomplish both:

  • Know your proportions, especially if you are of a shorter stature. As I watch my tall and willowy friends don anything from toga wraps to baby-doll dresses, my 4’11" frame must adhere to this commandment of fashion. The rule of thumb is, if going full on the bottom, (think sailor-flared pants) pair with a fitted shirt. Likewise, billowy, boldly patterned shirts should be partnered with conservatively colored and form-fitting bottoms. Bear this rule in mind when pairing your SAS shoes to an ensemble, and you will have no problem appearing stylishly fashion forward.
  • Add pops of color by pairing your otherwise monotone colored outfit with, say, a red-lipstick colored handbag. This is a great way to play with color and to get noticed fast. You can also achieve this objective with any accessories, from belts to jewelry. Plus, you and your compatriots will be so taken with the flashes of eye-catching color, that you won’t have time to berate yourself for not wearing heels.
  • Pair SAS shoes with skirts, since everyone has the capacity to look good in a skirt, provided that it is the right cut and has proper movement. Plus, when paired with a nice top, it’s an outfit you can take anywhere. Of course, if the weather’s a bit chilly, do not hesitate to wear tights. Keep in mind that tights can act as your accessory and be richly textured or patterned to achieve the look you want.
  • On the other hand, if staying away from color is more your cup of tea, then try this: wear color shades within the same family. Let’s say, for example, grey, blue and black are your favorite color shades. Take a grey suit and pair it with a blue shirt (or cami, tank, etc), a black belt, and blue shoes or a blue bag. Not to suggest that you have to match from head to toe, but think about applying color in unexpected places. By changing the way you see your wardrobe, you will discover that your comfortable SAS shoes work perfectly!

Why Buy SAS Shoes?

Well, a few reasons. First, these are finely constructed, handsomely-made shoes that you can to wear everyday without worrying that they’ll fall apart. Second, even if you wear high, sexy heeled shoes everyday, SAS footwear might be an attractive alternative to your usual combo of the suit-socks-sneakers getup you wear to work, and they may prove to be especially helpful in letting your feet breathe during the warmer months. And finally, since these are American-made shoes, you know that your purchase helps support jobs at home.

Teresa, sorry to hear about your bad experience with SAS!

My black sandals have only been worn 10 times and I have to toss them as the panty hose stick to them to the point of tearing up the "leather"!! I brought them in to the SAS store and the man said no go and he can't replace them. I am a Nordstrom gal and know how they stand by their product yet all I wanted from him is to tell me how to wear the. I had the knee high stuck to the sandal and he couldn't show me how to tear it off without doing damage to the so called "leather". Fo that price it should be real leather. I am not a happy camper.
