The Beauty of Stilettos
The heels of stilettos are high, thin and have the power to make your calves look super sexy. The heels actually look like spikes, and are often actually called spike heels. Often, stilettos are between two and four inches. They can be as short as one inch, though, or as high as six inches. You can find these heels on pumps, boots and sandals. Stilettos are quite possibly the sexiest type of shoe out there. They're often sold at lingerie stores to complete bedroom outfits, as well as regular shoe stores like Zappos and Shoes.com. Bottom line, they make your legs look longer and more toned. They're hot enough for the bedroom as well as going out to dinner. Stilettos, if you feel comfortable balancing on them, belong in every girl's closet.
The Dangers Involved with Wear
With sexy heels comes the risk of injury. Every year, podiatrists see women with foot and ankle pain, arthritis and twisted ankles because of high heels. Stilettos are the most dangerous type because of the small base. Looking good can come with a price. Wear them with caution. Sit down as much as possible and try not to walk long distances. Also, be extra careful on streets that aren't smooth. A thin heel can easily catch on a stone and cause you to trip or twist your ankle.
Alternatives
Platform shoes and wedge sandals make good alternatives to stilettos. They put less strain on your foot and are more comfortable over all. If you want to wear your stilettos at work but have a long commute on foot, you can always pack them. Wear Walking shoes to and from work. Slide them on at the beginning of the day and take them off before you walk home. That way you're not swearing them off, but you're not putting yourself in extreme danger or pain, either.
When and Where Do You Wear Them?
You probably won't want to wear stilettos on a Saturday shopping trip. You probably won't want to wear them to work, either. So where DO you wear them? Wear them out! When you go out for dinner and a movie, it's the perfect time. You'll be sitting for most of the night. It brings a new meaning to, "just sit there and look pretty." That's the best thing for you do in spiky heels.
What to Wear Them With
- Dressed up blue jeans
- Trousers
- Knee-length or longer skirts
Stay away from the mini-skirts if you want to wear your tall, thin heels. Wearing them together could give off a message you didn't intend.
