Toddler Crocs
From LoveToKnow Shoes
For a fun day at the beach or at an amusement park, parents can feel good about the health of their kids’ feet and bones if the little ones are wearing toddler Crocs. These adaptable and practical shoes are ideal for active kids and busy parents.
Why Toddler Crocs?
Thanks to their slip-resistant sole, adult Crocs are a popular outdoor shoe, particularly for boating and other water-based activities. Both functional and fabulously funky, Crocs are seen by the pool, in restaurant kitchens, at the spa and on the street. But what makes them such great toddler shoes? They’re easy to put on, which is perfect for hurried mornings, the slip-resistance is ideal for bodies still unsure of their balance, they’re stain resistant and very easy to clean, which every parent knows is crucial and can make a big difference in a difficult day. The soles are non-marking, which means less cleaning of floors and walls. The shoes are tough and lightweight and ventilated, so little feet breathe well. And with lots of cheerful colors and patterns, you are guaranteed to find a pair your child loves so much, you might have a harder time getting them off than putting them on.
Choosing Toddler Crocs
There are several different styles and patterns of toddler Crocs available:
- Cayman
- With the look of a ventilated clog, this style is one of the most popular by far. It comes in 22 colors and features the standard wide, roomy foot bed that is so critical for growing feet.
- Disney Cayman
- The toe-box ventilation features Mickey Mouse die-cut holes, and the adjustable straps are in fun contrasting colors.
- Crocling
- On a Cayman base, but with a secure-fit upper made of soft Neoprene in five patterns: Camouflage, Croc Attack, Flames, Glam and Haze, designed for kids on the run. Still easy to get on and off and bacteria and odor resistant.
- Girls’ Mary Jane
- On the classic Crocs base but with a shorter toe bed and an extra strap, giving it the look of the familiar Mary Jane but with style, funk and comfort. In black, light blue, celery and purple.
- Endeavor
- Ideal for when you and your kids are out and about in chilly or rougher weather. The Endeavor, while still a slip-on, has a smooth toe box made of Patented Closed Cell Resin that warms and softens with body heat and molds to the feet. Comes in khaki, red, chocolate, lime, black, navy and sea blue.
- Athens With Heel Strap
- Thong sandals are too unstable for small feet, but the excellent sole design of Crocs combined with a heel strap for stability makes this a good summer shoe. Comes in four colors each for girls and boys, although there’s no good reason to limit your choice based on that sort of criteria at this age, just choose the one that best suits your child’s personality.
Fitting Toddler Crocs
When your child has just learned to walk, it is crucial that his shoes fit perfectly and help with balance. You may find better prices for toddler Crocs at an online shoe store, and when you’re buying for feet that grow this fast, cost is certainly an issue, but it’s worth every penny to have your child fitted properly first and preferably by a specialist.
Crocs states that the best way to test fit is to set the foot on the footbed. If the toes do not touch the tip, this is the correct size. When the strap is secured, the toes may be pushed forward, but this can be relieved by stretching the strap. Carefully test the fit with the strap on and off, as your child will not be able to tell you if her toes are touching the end. Most Crocs shoes should fit very loosely. This is ideal for growing feet as it conforms best to what nature intended and allows your toddler to run wild in shoes that breathe, and allows you to breathe easy.
