Women's Boots

Shopping for Women's Boots
You should be able to find women's boots anywhere that sells women's shoes. For specialty boots like Timberlands, you might have to go to an outdoor goods store or at least a department store like Sears. You won't find them in Payless. Zappos.com has them, though. For trendier, funkier boots, check Electrique Boutique, Zappos, Payless, Victoria's Secret, Fredericks of Hollywood, or RackRoom Shoes. There, you'll find unique patterns, vibrant colors, and boots that scream "just a little naughty."
When you're looking for something to wear to work, department stores like JC Penney, Nordstrom's, or Dillards will have a wide selection. Spending a little more for quality here will pay off; try Nine West Shoes for a classic pair. Make sure they're comfortable, since you'll be stuck in them for hours. Look for quality, since don't want to have to replace them every few months. Work boots should be neutral in color, since you'll be wearing them often.
Types of Women's Boots
Casual
Just about any women's boot without a tall, skinny heel fits this category. Casual boots can go to the grocery store, the mall, or a football game on a cold night. Uggs have gotten quite a bit of hype for go-everywhere, keeping-out-the-cold wear. Unless you're trudging through the snow on a daily basis, you might want to check out one of the several knockoffs available in department stores.
Dress
These women's boots are work-friendly in almost every job. They look sleek in neutral tones paired with serious suits. If you're an artistic type, you'll love to know there's a pair of magazine boots out there calling your name. Does your job have you on your feet all the time and dressed casually? Certain styles of Timberlands offer comfort, style, and not too much of a hiking boot feel.
Play
Do you like to hike? Are you known to visit a disco club on occasion? There's still a boot for you. Check out Timberland.com for a selection of women's hiking boots. For retro style, you'll want go-go boots or platforms. Electrique Boutique has an outrageous assortment of knee-high party boots.
Trendy
This is the fun group! This is where you'll find pink faux snakeskin, leopard print, and women's boots made to resemble corsets. Since you probably won't get much wear out of the trendy boots, look for deals. Look for sales at RackRoom Shoes, Payless, or eBay.
So What Do I Wear These Boots With Anyway?
Jeans and a t-shirt, sweater and a skirt, suits, or trousers and a button-up--anything goes! When you're wearing jeans and a t-shirt, try fleece-lined boots with no heel, a cowboy boot, or a low-heeled classic style. Sporting a sweater and skirt? Fit the women's boots to your look. Funky calls for go-go boots, while classic calls for calf-hugging black heels. For work, keep your boots to a neutral shade of black, brown, taupe, or camel. Go lightly on the details; leave the prints and patterns at home unless they're understated.
