Women`s shoes with a dash of flavor

We've been in dull greys and blacks all winter, but now that Spring is here, it's time to cast those muted color palettes aside and go for something a little more uplifting--and that applies just as much to our shoes as it does to the rest of our wardrobes.

Red was the big color on the catwalks this season, with patent leather pumps in cherry red being the star attraction. Luckily, red is more versatile than you'd think in women's shoes. It adds a splash of color which will instantly update your outfit.

Wear your red shoes with black capris and slash-necked top for some French Riviera chic. Try turned up jeans and striped top for a nautical look. Pair a polka dot dress (preferably by Roland Mouret!) and waspie belt for some movie star glamour.

The key to wearing red is to wear it only in small splashes and shoes are an ideal place to start. You can accessorize with a splash of bright red lipstick for the finishing touch!

Try them out to look as beautiful as you can ever be!!!

Think Spring with your Women's Shoes

If your feet have been swaddled up in Uggs or cowboy boots all winter, springtime is your opportunity to let them out! Peeptoe shoes are big this season, and look great with the aforementioned polka dot dresses and Capri pants.

If you can find peeptoes with a platform heel, then so much the better. Platform shoes are back with a vengeance this season. The less coordinated among us will be pleased to know that we're talking very modest platforms, not the three-inch high women's shoes which were so popular in the 70s!

Metallics Are Back

Actually, if you know anything about women's shoes, you'll know that metallics never really went away. They were very popular during the Fall/Winter seasons. They're sticking with us for Spring, with silver, gold and pewter high on every shoe addict's wish list.

The great thing about metallics is that they will go with pretty much anything, from jeans to dresses. Like the red shoes mentioned above, metallic shoes will add instant glamour to any outfit. Pair them with a metallic belt or handbag for fabulous Spring style.

Spring Shoes Essentials

Of course, once the warmer weather rolls around there are a few perennial favorites in women's shoes that you just shouldn't be without.

Flip Flops in the Sun

Who could be without their favorite pair of flip flops for the Summer months? No longer just for the beach, flip flops look good with jeans or shorts. They can even be used to dress down skirts and dresses.

Flip flops are as comfortable as can be and are so light!!!

Espadrilles

Perfect with Capri pants and skirts, espadrilles help create a look which is dressy enough to wear in the evening but casual enough for a day's shopping, too.

Wedge Heels

Stores fill with wedge heels in every possible style during the Spring/Summer season. These are easier on your ankles than stilettos, but still add length to the leg. They make for a sexy, stylish silhouette.

Birkenstocks

Go anywhere this spring and you'll see people wearing Birkenstocks. They're comfortable, easy to wear and, like so many of this Spring's women's shoe styles, you can wear them with just about anything.
