Hi Kaci, thanks for your questions! There's quite a history behind volleyball shoes. I can tell you that the first volleyball shoe, according to Fairway Volleyball, was the Tiger Westwood. Tiger is the original name of what we now know as ASICS.

Volleyball shoes differ from other athletic shoes in their soles and weight. The soles are constructed of gum rubber, which is ideal for playing on hard surfaces and provides excellent traction. Supposedly the top of the line volleyball shoes are all lightweight, and those that are heavier are generally the less costly shoes.

I'm afraid we haven't been able to trace who invented them, but we'll update as we find out!

can the weight of the shoes effect the height of your blocking and when were volleyball shoes first invented? what is the differnce between shoes we wear everyday and volleyball shoes? who invinted them and how did he get the idea?
